Alright then,  off we go with an update on a busy session! We had quite detailed information on making dogs, leaves and some very fancy spirals of two types....Archimedes and Fibonacci - I had to look those up!! We had some splendid work on show and an update from the Brampton show which was held in North Shields....so doesn't that mean it was the North Shields show .....read on for more.

Andrew Hall: WoodturningAndrew Hall has taken a break from his hectic holiday schedule to put in some time in the workshop, he was inspired by last weeks Skew Masterclass by Mick Johns and has produced a batch of these firewood dogs using mostly the skew....who knew a tin opener could be so useful. The dogs now feature moveable limbs so they can be set in a whole range of poses...you could even use them for stop motion animation....if you were good with Lumafusion that is....now there's a challenge!

Burnsy: WoodturningBurnsy has been out in the workshop and on the computer working leaves for lampshades. Designs have been drawn and traced from actual leaves then cut, and not a single thing was set on fire...must be getting the hang of it then !!

Daniel Stewart: WoodturningDaniel Stewart has been trying his hand at batch production with this run of plates he produced, great work....Richard Findley needs to watch out !!

Gary Lowe WoodturningGary Lowe sent over some photos of what turned out to be a challenge, Gary produced one of these pieces of off centre/multi centre work and when the image was posted to social media someone made a comment about producing a matching one. So the challenge was accepted and as you can see the challenge looks pretty much like it was met...one slice of humble pie required for someone then.

Malcolm Ferguson: WoodturningMalcolm Ferguson (chair of Border Woodturners) had a good day out over in North Shields at the Axminster store for the Brampton Show...sorry still can't get my head around having a Brampton show in North Shields. Anyway, congratulations to Northumbria Woodturners on their victory, well deserved. Congratulations to all involved, some really nice work on show. Maybe we could have the Brampton show in Paris next year....that'd be a nice day out !!!

Nick Simpson: WoodturningNick Simpson sent in photos of the process he went through to make his series of off-centre/multi-centre spiral inspired pieces. Some very detailed work with some fairly big lumps of wood spinning around well and truly off-centre. Really interesting presentation, great stuff !

Patrick Lindsay: WoodturningPatrick Lindsay has been as busy as always with some pretty big lumps of wood being converted into some fantastic pieces of work...and of course there's always the odd Orchid or two !!

As always we had several contributions from others so, if you showed something, then please do send over some photos you can do it from your mobile phone.... it's not that hard, just ask a teenager for help!!

DON'T FORGET: YOU SHOULD SEND OVER YOUR PHOTOS/VIDEOS FOR MONDAY EVENING RIGHT AWAY FOLKS!!

Don't forget you can find the previous Monday Session Reports on the website just click here. You can also look at the images for each week by clicking here and look at the images for each contributor by clicking here.

Once again thanks to all of you for making these evenings such a success, if nobody contributed then none of these evenings could happen. Keep on making and, most important of all,  keep on sharing!
