All sorts of stuff this week, Margaret Garrard picked up a well deserved award in London from the Worshipful Company of Turners, we had lathes for sale, lathes purchased, new workspaces being taken on, log dogs, mystery timbers and a whole lot more besides...how do we fit it all in!! Andrew Hall sent over some photos of some recent pieces including a trio of log dogs made for a friend and a blues bowl made as a collaborative piece with Kirsty Dalton. Can't wait to see the finished piece !!
Burnsy shared some photos of a workshop which is being cleared out, all of the tools and machinery are for sale. For more details please get in touch or contact Andrew Maxwell. This week also saw the arrival of a hamper to say thanks for acting as a judge in the New Zealand Woodworking Association competition.
Daniel Stewart sent in some photos of his new workspace, Daniel has been offered an old Church to serve as his workspace.....exciting times indeed! Good luck with the move and we are all looking forward to seeing how it progresses.
Graham Brooks sent over some photos of a lovely manta ray style bowl, as always a really lovely piece of work !
John Brown sent in some photos of a recently completed bowl...but this one had a slight design change towards the end of the turning...we've all been there John!!
Margaret Garrard sent over some photos of her very successful trip to London, Margaret won top awards at the Worshipful Company of Turners recent competition and exhibition. Well done and well deserved !! We also got a view of the piece in question and some images of the other pieces in the exhibition.
Martin Stacey sent over some photos to serve as a teaser....he's been out spending money !!! Now of course he's only got to work out how to fit his new purchase into the workshop....I'm sure many of us have been in that situation. Sounds like lots of fun !!
Phil Irons sent over some photos of the replacement jaws he has made to allow him to continue making spoons. We also got a view of some timber he had been sent with some really lovely figure...the identity of the timber is a bit of a mystery at the moment...more next week!!
Richard Dickson sent over some photos of a candle holder made from a piece of timber with inclusions, lots of figure and character in that one....an ideal Christmas gift for someone !!
