Lots of things going on with preparations for Christmas (yes I know, it's not December yet) and folks getting excited about the Harrogate show. All sorts of stuff going on, plus a report back from the recent AFTAB symposium in France read on for more...
Arun has been in touch to let us all know he should be rejoining us in the New Year as he should have sorted the broadband issue by then. He's also sent in a leaflet for an exhibition he is part of up in Kirriemuir, bit of a long trip but if you are in the area then please drop in!
Burnsy shared some photos of a nice little parcel that arrived from Shaper Tools, the Trace kit allows hand drawings to be quickly converted to machine ready files using just a mobile phone or an iPad (other tablets and phones work too). A recent charity shop find was also on display, the (now rare) carving by numbers book by Mike Davies (Record Power live sessions)...even more collectable as it isn't autographed !!!
Martin Stacey sent over some photos of a new piece with colour, texture and gold leaf....very exciting stuff indeed!!
Nick Simpson sent over some photos of his Remembrance Day work entitled "Gone Over the Top", along with them cam a photo of two bottle stoppers made to remind us all of the sacrifices made on our behalf. Please make sure to buy those Poppies.
Patrick Lindsay has been out hard at work, those nice big pieces still keep on rolling out and Patrick has been taking deliver of more raw materials..it's exhausting just looking at that pile of timber !! Of course we also got our weekly fix of Orchids as well !!
Phil Irons sent in a whole bunch of photographs from his visit to demonstrate at the recent AFTAB symposium in France. It looks like the event was very interesting and the work on show was certainly very impressive !! We also got a couple of videos of work on show including some rather intriguing spinning tops...see the video below.
Richard Dickson has been out working and produced this rather lovely hollow form complete with threaded lid and finial... he's getting to grips with the Hope threading jig then !!
Videos Received This Week
As always we had several contributions from others so, if you showed something, then please do send over some photos you can do it from your mobile phone.... it's not that hard, just ask a teenager for help!!
DON'T FORGET: YOU SHOULD SEND OVER YOUR PHOTOS/VIDEOS FOR MONDAY EVENING RIGHT AWAY FOLKS!!
Don't forget you can find the previous Monday Session Reports on the website just click here. You can also look at the images for each week by clicking here and look at the images for each contributor by clicking here.
Once again thanks to all of you for making these evenings such a success, if nobody contributed then none of these evenings could happen. Keep on making and, most important of all, keep on sharing!
