Well, we started this week with a very close shave indeed, we followed that up with 3d printing, branch bowls, router lathes, Shou Sugi Ban, natural edge work, boxes and rounded things off with a rare Orchid. All of that packed into one session...read on for more....
Andrew Hall sent in a video (see below) which makes you wince just thinking about it, the consequences of this one could have been catastrophic. Health and safety, espcially PPE, is important...as pointed out in the video you don't get that lucky twice.
Burnsy has put the new 3d printer to work, producing some super size versions of the vases produced a couple of weeks ago along with some furniture components which could not be printed in a single piece on the smaller printer. Things are shaping up nicely, more to follow.
John Brown sent over some photos of a set of three natural edge piece in Yew. John turned these from branches cut in half and supplied by Mr Brian Conchie, very nice indeed though John pointed out that the timber was a little on the dry side and very hard.
Kevin Purdy sent over some photos of a plant stand he had made some while ago. This one is part turned and part machined on a router lathe - the spiral was produced on the router lathe, a fascinating bit of kit which was made by a couple of firms including Trend in the UK. Nice work !!
Martin Stacey sent in some photos of a job he had completed - a worktop for a relative. Martin built the worktop from scratch and added the scorched finish (Shou Sugi Ban) ...he's now looking forward to collecting his reward !!
Patrick Lindsay has been busy as always. We got a look at a natural edge bowl in progress and a very nice pear shaped box which had been completed recently...and of course we also got a look at an Orchid currently in flower !!

As always we had several contributions from others so, if you showed something, then please do send over some photos you can do it from your mobile phone.... it's not that hard, just ask a teenager for help!!
