Some interesting work and lots of discussion this week, a trip out to an inspirational exhibition, some salvaged wood being converted, pens and finishes, work inspired by demonstrations and some progress on recovery. Read on for more:
Burnsy took some time out to go on a visit to a quilt festival at Shambellie House. The work on show was stunning, lots of vivid colours, a mixture of old and new techniques and some interesting discussions to be had. It's on for a while and it is well worth a visit !!
Gary Lowe sent in some photos of a recent piece made from parts of a salvaged packing crate. The resulting piece showcases Gary's signature colour and texture in a really lovely piece. Lots of positive feedback on this one and rightly so !!
John Brown took some inspiration from a recent demo given by Margaret Garrard and has produced this rather lovely 2mm wall thickness bowl, John has also started to process some of the Monkey Puzzle he scored recently from a neighbours garden (see the videos below) - nice !!
Julian Cleak sent over some photos of a selection of pens as a follow up to the discussion over pen finishes from last week with Bill Mooney This provoked a lively discussion about pens and finishes in general...well done!!
Kevin Purdy sent in some photos of some small projects he had made as he continues his recovery from surgery. Some nice pieces, in addition Kevin has been making use of the cooker top photo studio technique which Phil loves so much...nice one!!
