Lots of interesting stuff going on this week; shed building, electric vehicle spotting and of course some of us even had time for woodturning - whatever next!! The Christmas Challenge 2024 is also getting more entries, though it may be just to wind up a certain very tall gentleman!! Read on for more:
Burnsy sent in some photos of the new shed build in progress and a very posh electric vehicle spotted charging up locally, a Lotus Eletre no less ! We also got a look at some Christmas tree baubles currently in design. These will form part of the Christmas Challenge 2024.
Daniel Stewart sent in some photos of a rather lovely Elm natural edge bowl, the bowl also has some rather nice detail on the underside...keeps the woodturners happy !!
Kevin Purdy sent in some photos of recent work including some pieces for the Christmas Challenge 2024, these pieces use colour and stencils to achieve a really nice effect. We also got a look at a small bowl made from a branch union/crotch which was very nice indeed !!
Len Shield sent in some photos of the entries from the Brampton Woodturners open day that happened recently, Durham woodturners entry took first prize and deservedly so. Well done to all that entered !!
Patrick Lindsay sent some photos of some recent pieces including a couple of large bowls and another of his matched goblet, decanter and tray sets. This one is in Yew and the tray is turned on mulitple centres to create the recesses for the goblets and decanter to stand in....something of a challenge to mark out and turn. Well done !!
