Looks like things are getting very busy and the Christmas Challenge 2024 entries are arriving thick and fast - and it's not just turning!! We had some non-Christmas items too (Just for Jim) and some items for sale.  Read on for more:

Andrew Hall: WoodturningAndrew Hall sent in some photos showing a list of books and DVD's he has for sale and some photos of a lathe he has for sale, a Wivamac DB6000 with all the trimmings - time to grab yourself a Christmas bargain folks!! Anyone interested should contact Andrew directly.

Burnsy: WoodturningBurnsy sent in some photos showing more Christmas output, some spiral baubles cut using the laser and some 3d printed decorations plus a couple of large table lamps which have more to do with Austin Powers than Christmas...groovy baby !! We also got a look at the progress on the new shed which has moved on to interior fit out !!

Graham Brooks: WoodturningGraham Brooks sent in some photos of a trio of natural edge bowls made from some gifted branch wood. The timber has some nice colour and figure and these will go as gifts to some lucky recipient, very nice indeed!!

Kevin Purdy: WoodturningKevin Purdy sent in some photos of a couple of pieces completed this week. First we have a very nice lidded box on a pedestal with a very well proportioned finial. We also got a look at a natural edge bowl which makes great use of a very nice piece of timber...if these are Christmas gifts then the recipients should be very happy !!

Len Shield: WoodturningLen Shield sent in some photos of what everyone agreed was a real Christmas cracker, the lamp post in the piece has two light options !! However, Len was upstaged by the fantastic textile art work of his wife, Kathleen. The amount of work on some of her pieces is staggering, check out the clothes on the figures...well done !!

Malcolm Ferguson: WoodturningMalcolm Ferguson sent in a photo of a couple of Christmas baubles, very colourful addtions to the tree. Malcolm used the cooker top photographic studio which prompted several queries about his availability for contract cooker cleaning...!!

Martin Stacey: WoodturningMartin Stacey has been out in the workshop making these two lovely Snowmen which light up. Very nice indeed !!

Paul Howard: WoodturningPaul Howard sent in a photo of a Christmas special, a nutcracker made in the traditional fashion a little while ago. We were also told of a very adult version of a nutcracker made by someone else...apparently the photos may be available at some point in time.....though perhaps the maker may not be keen to have it put on display!!

Phil Irons: WoodturningPhil Irons has been out in the workshop preparing for a Christmas Craft event, a batch of spoons in progress with a real time video clip of the laser engraving, this isn't sped up...it really is that quick!! Phil also sent in a video ...he's been experimenting with the Slo-Mo feature on his phone's camera - no handles were bent in the making of the clip!!
