So this Monday we had quite a few items shared with the group and a good evening was had by all. Here is the round up:
Graham Brooks sent in some photos of a very nice box and a warped (intentionally) bowl. The overall design was inspired by Cindy Drozda, a three sided box with an oriental influence to the shape of the lid but in this case Graham had gotten the pyrography tools out and taken it a step further. The bowl had been warped and held three spheres so that it resembled a seed pod with seed in it.
Margaret Garrard gave us look at some of the work she is doing on Therming. Margaret is using a jig she has made and had been experimenting with some pieces of scrap timber from the builders merchants ..... I feel an IRD coming on!!
Patrick Lindsay sent over some photos of a coffee table he has been making with a natural edge, the slice of log had been somewhat challenging to mount onto the lathe but of course Patrick is pretty exprienced at handling large lumps of timber ...and yes Phil that is a workshop with two (2) VB36 lathes in it.
Phil Irons sent over some photos of a lump of Monkey Puzzle he has on the lathe, and very pretty it is too.
As always we had several contributions from others but the session is not recorded so I don't have screen shots....if you showed something then please do send over some photos, you can do it from your mobile phone.... it's not that hard, just ask a teenager for help!!
DON'T FORGET: YOU SHOULD SEND OVER YOUR PHOTOS FOR MONDAY EVENING RIGHT AWAY FOLKS!!
Don't forget you can find the previous Monday Session Reports on the website just click here. You can also look at the images for each week by clicking here and look at the images for each contributor by clicking here.
Once again thanks to all of you for making these evenings such a success, if nobody contributed then none of these evenings could happen. Keep on making and, most important of all, keep on sharing!
