This Monday we had a number of items shared amongst the group and a live workshop tour!! Read on for more details:
First and foremost we need to say thank you to Martin Stacey for giving us all a guided tour of his workshop, packed full of useful ideas on storage and making the best use of space..I'm sure we all picked up some ideas from that!
We also received some very exciting news on a possible IRD for our group by Nick Agar, we took a poll to see if members of the group were interested (like we needed to ask) and the response was an overwhelming yes with the most requested topic being the Viking Sunset Bowl.
We will post more information when we have it!
Ian Forster showed us a box he has made to add to his collection, this time in Sassafras. Ian is heading for his century of boxes in different timber so if you have some unusual timber then get in touch and we'll see if we can add it to the collection.
Len Shield has been making more teapots following on from the Laurent Niclot demo, this time we also have a cup, saucer and droplet to go with the teapots and coffee pots...enough for a cafe shortly then!
Malcolm Walker has been busy making rugby balls...well kind of! Malcom has been making this segmented piece as a trophy and of course...he now has several more to make!
Patrick Lindsay sent over some photos of his button jaws...made to suit some of the larger pieces he makes. Patrick also sent over some photos of two styles of natural edge bowls he has been making to get a view from the group on which style they preferred...Patrick's wife had already expressed a preference and of course (needless to say) the group felt she was quite right!
As always we had several contributions from others but the session is not recorded so I don't have screen shots....if you showed something then please do send over some photos, you can do it from your mobile phone.... it's not that hard, just ask a teenager for help!!
DON'T FORGET: YOU SHOULD SEND OVER YOUR PHOTOS FOR MONDAY EVENING RIGHT AWAY FOLKS!!
Don't forget you can find the previous Monday Session Reports on the website just click here. You can also look at the images for each week by clicking here and look at the images for each contributor by clicking here.
Once again thanks to all of you for making these evenings such a success, if nobody contributed then none of these evenings could happen. Keep on making and, most important of all, keep on sharing!
