This Monday we had a number of items shared amongst the group, amongst them several teapots were featured as a result of the Laurent Niclot demo. Read on for more details:
Martin Stacey gave us a look at a splendid bit of pyrography, an owl based on a photo of the real thing. Thank you Martin!
Patrick Lindsay showed us a bowl made from a very exotic timber. The timber had come from Carlisle Cathedral, Patrick had been lucky enough to get a piece from the restoration work done at the Cathedral.
Phil Irons sent over a set of photographs showing some timber he had acquired locally, including some photos of the wood being cut up and one very fetching photo of his friendly tree surgeon!
Ken Bryden didn't manage to make a tea pot but he has been very busy with a vase which has been carved.
Margaret Garrard wasn't able to be at the session but she did send over some photos of a fantastic teapot made after seeing the Laurent Niclot demo. As you can see from the pound coin....it'd be a pretty small cuppa!
Jay Heryet sent over a set of photographs showing some teapots she had made in the past, looking forward to seeing a miniature one soon then!
Graham Brooks sent over a set of photographs showing some hollow forms with colour applied, one of them was based on a Cindy Drozda demo he had attended and included a Blackwood base and finial.
Bill Mooney sent over a set of photographs showing some chess pieces made by a relative who had some lessons from Bill a while ago ....seems like the tuition worked then!
As always we had several contributions from others but the session is not recorded so I don't have screen shots....if you showed something then please do send over some photos, you can do it from your mobile phone.... it's not that hard, just ask a teenager for help!!
