This week more workshop output, a game of "What kind of wood is this?" and some feedback from a recent event set up for young turners...yes there are some out there!!
Bill Mooney sent over some photo's of his latest pens. Some bullet/cartridge pens made from spent cartridges and one special order fountain pen in African BlackWood ...this one is now being put to good use and will be treasured.
Jay Heryet sent over a bunch of images from the recent event for young and emerging turners that she organised. It's a topic often discussed but Jay decided to set up a weekend event and get some of these young folks together to turn. The weekend was a great success and will hopefully be repeated...when Jay catches up on all that lost sleep!
Len Shield has been busy out in the workshop to produce a table centre for his wife to decorate...very nice indeed!!
Mike Wilson sent over some better photos of the unidentified burr from last week. The general view arrived at was Burr Elm...whatever it is we are sure to see some beautiful pieces from Mike in future.
Patrick Lindsay sent us over some photos of more lovely pieces emerging from his workshop. So much energy...must be something in the water in Hexham!
As always we had several contributions from others so, if you showed something, then please do send over some photos you can do it from your mobile phone.... it's not that hard, just ask a teenager for help!!
