Neil Turner in Borgue (wrapped up well !!), treadle lathes, basketry, vintage aircraft, wooden nuts and bolts, a lathe for sale, Christmas production runs plus not one disaster but three...I had to lie down somewhere quiet after this one...

burnsy: WoodturningBurnsy sent over some photo's from a rather special event held in Borgue at the weekend. A certain Mr Neil Turner gave a workshop to three lucky young people who were sponsored by the RPT. Neil showed them how he makes his Sea Urchin box and even left an example behind, this now takes a prominent spot on a shelf not too far from yours truly !!

Graham Brooks: WoodturningGraham Brooks sent over some images of a turned nativity scene with figures based on an article by Colwin Way. We also had some images of a batch of gonks...yep you can really tell it's heading towards Christmas..

Helen Bailey: WoodturningHelen Bailey sent over some images of an early Christmas present to herself. Helen has managed to acquire a vintage treadle lathe as a restoration project....now she has to work out where to put it...imagine that, someone buying a lathe and then having to work out where to put it....I'm sure none of us have ever done that......

Kevin Purdy: WoodturningKevin Purdy sent over some photos of some baskets made recently plus some turned wooden tools to help with bending the willow for weaving without putting kinks in it.

Len Shield: WoodturningLen Shield sent us over a couple of photos of a lathe that is up for sale currently. Anyone interested please get in touch with Len or drop me an email and I will put you in touch.

Patrick Lindsay: WoodturningPatrick Lindsay sent us over a batch of photos from his RAF days that he has scanned. Lots of interest in the aircraft on show !

Paul Howard: WoodturningPaul Howard sent us over some photos of a nut, bolt and washer made from Olive wood. The set is made in the correct proportions (we would expect nothing less!!) and has a hidden box in the top of the bolt. Stunning!

Phil Irons: WoodturningPhil Irons sent us over some photos of a set of mishaps...yes folks, he does have them just like everyone else! The first was a Walnut hollow form which is now a 3d jigsaw, the second is a bent hollowing tool handle (steel), not content with bending one handle Phil then went on to bend a second one...he always has to go one better !! Well...it happens to us all.

As always we had several contributions from others so, if you showed something, then please do send over some photos you can do it from your mobile phone.... it's not that hard, just ask a teenager for help!!

DON'T FORGET: YOU SHOULD SEND OVER YOUR PHOTOS FOR MONDAY EVENING RIGHT AWAY FOLKS!!

Don't forget you can find the previous Monday Session Reports on the website just click here. You can also look at the images for each week by clicking here and look at the images for each contributor by clicking here.

Once again thanks to all of you for making these evenings such a success, if nobody contributed then none of these evenings could happen. Keep on making and, most important of all,  keep on sharing!
