It looks like we are all pretty busy making things and generally getting stuff done...lots of photos and we are even managing to get some turning done...whatever next. Lots of photos, lots of chat. All in all a good evening.
Arun has been out working on his favourite timber (Monkey Puzzle) to make some a rather splendid hollow form and of course there has been a little bit more of the Burr Elm turned.
Burnsy sent over some photos from a trip out to visit a Monkey Puzzle that had come down in a storm (what a shame!) and a small timber pile ....plenty of nice big logs to go for in this place.
Graham Brooks sent over some photos of an emerging bowl piece he had completed. Not content with that one Graham moved on to produce a stunning emerging hollow form complete with lid and finial.
Len Shield sent in some photos of some bowls made in spalted Beech. The logs had been deliberately spalted then Len got Andrew Hall to cut them up for him using his DeWalt cordless chainsaw. Lovely patterns and colours.
Mike Wilson sent over an assortment of photos including one of his wood store, a large outdoor chair and a recent in person gathering at his local club.
Pat Carroll sent over some photos of a rather lovely bowl with an undercut rim...or is it a Calabash...or is it an open hollow form...not sure we got to the bottom of that one to be honest.
Patrick Lindsay sent over some photos of his father and the DeHaviland DH9 he flew in WW1 as a follow on from the discussion about early planes in an earlier session..very interesting.
Stephen Mellor sent over some photos of some recent work, a hollow form with paint finish and an urn made for a relative who had lost a child. Very nice indeed.
Richard Dickson sent over a video a couple of weeks ago but had not been in to discuss it, since he was present this evening and we don't like to leave him out we included it !!
The video shows Richard putting the finishing touches to an urn made to hold the ashes of his Father in Law. Richard managed to use a piece of timber from his Father in Law's garden for the lid.
As always we had several contributions from others so, if you showed something, then please do send over some photos you can do it from your mobile phone.... it's not that hard, just ask a teenager for help!!
DON'T FORGET: YOU SHOULD SEND OVER YOUR PHOTOS FOR MONDAY EVENING RIGHT AWAY FOLKS!!
Don't forget you can find the previous Monday Session Reports on the website just click here. You can also look at the images for each week by clicking here and look at the images for each contributor by clicking here.
Once again thanks to all of you for making these evenings such a success, if nobody contributed then none of these evenings could happen. Keep on making and, most important of all, keep on sharing!
