What a busy lot we are, more turning, one of those favours for a mate which turned into a bit of an epic and a venture in Damascus Steel and knife making...very definitely a busy evening.
Arun has been out and gotten himself a new Stihl chainsaw then built himself a milling attachement, as you do! Of course once built it then had to be tested, the results speak for themselves...we also got a photo of a rather muddy dog, she was bored watching the milling so went off to find something more interesting.
Burnsy sent over some photos of a rather nice milled slab of timber which was delivered to the workshop. Seemed to have table written all over it so some rather swish steel legs have been acquired to finish the job.
John Brown (Dumfries) sent over some couple of photos of a recent timber collection trip, some rather nice looking spalted Beech...not sure about the two scallywags with it though!!
Julian Cleak offered to do a favour for a mate and it turned into a bit of an epic project using a lot of time and a large quantity of what is these days very expensive imported hardwood. Still it really does look the part now it's finished!
Martin Stacey sent over an assortment of photos including some of his dogs and a wobble pot he has made for a local club competition.
Patrick Lindsay sent over some photos of a big natural edge bowl plus some Monkey Puzzle pieces in progress.
Paul Howard sent over some photos of his recent trip to a forge to make a knife from Damascus Steel. The trip also involved Simon Hope and Mick Hanbury. Some really nice results and quite a lot of interest in the courses on offer at the forge.
Phil Irons sent over some photos of his hollowing rig and some images of a recent delivery of timber. We also got to see some of the latest Monkey Puzzle..looks like Phil has been out playing with the glitter again!!
