These Monday sessions just seem to get busier and busier, lots of work on display and, of course, the odd pet or two....
Burnsy has been on eBay again...this time it's a Sedgwick planer/thicknesser. Acquired from a (relatively) local furniture maker. The journey home was ....interesting as this thing weighs quite a bit. Unloading from the trailer was easy with the telehandler, however moving it up the garden and into the workshop is likely to prove even more interesting.
Kevin Purdy sent over some photos of a rather nice hollow form with texture and colour. Very nice indeed!
Patrick Lindsay sent over a photo of a domestic pet who seems to have gotten the idea that the sofa is for their sole use...which of course we all know is totally correct....Patrick also showed us some pieces he had been working on and explained what he uses to finish them...he gets a really nice gloss finish. Patrick uses a Liberon product called Superior Danish Oil
Phil Irons showed us an image of one of his finished pieces. Phil seemed surprised at the gloss finish that Patrick achieved by simply using the Liberon Oil..maybe Phil should pop "up North" for a lesson !!!
Richard Dickson sent over an assortment of photos including one of his dog. We also got a look at some salad bowls (complete with some very nice looking salad) and a workshop floor that looks alarmingly like Phil's....Richard, always remember: you know it's time to tidy up when you need to kneel down to turn!
Stephen Mellor sent over some photos of some off-centre pieces he has been making. Very clever stuff...and pretty scary when it's spinning!
As always we had several contributions from others so, if you showed something, then please do send over some photos you can do it from your mobile phone.... it's not that hard, just ask a teenager for help!!
DON'T FORGET: YOU SHOULD SEND OVER YOUR PHOTOS FOR MONDAY EVENING RIGHT AWAY FOLKS!!
Don't forget you can find the previous Monday Session Reports on the website just click here. You can also look at the images for each week by clicking here and look at the images for each contributor by clicking here.
Once again thanks to all of you for making these evenings such a success, if nobody contributed then none of these evenings could happen. Keep on making and, most important of all, keep on sharing!
