New lathes, lasers, aerobatic displays and woodturning...you could say it was a pretty mixed session !!
Gary Lowe has now gotten his VL300 into the workshop and it now looks rather splendid with it's new coat of paint. Gary even found time to get the first piece of work on it.
Len Shield sent over some images of recent work including this rather splendid multi axis piece which must have been challenging to turn.
Martin Stacey sent over some images of a piece he made after seeing a large spider on a wall...Aragog springs to mind !
Patrick Lindsay sent over a couple of photos showing some larger pieces he has made on the VB36. The main struggle is simply getting the blank on to the lathe in the first place...it appears that several of us have noticed that as we are getting older the wood seems to be getting heavier......funny thing that.
Phil Irons is very happy with his new toy essential tool. Phil has purchased a hand held laser engraver and has been experimenting with it for signing his work and a whole range of other things. The tool in question is this one: https://www.laserpecker.net/ There was a great deal of interest in this piece of technology and Phil will be giving us a live demo of it in a few weeks time.
Richard Dickson sent over some photos of some woodturning plus some photos and video of the red arrows in action near his home. Of course pets have to make an appearance in our Monday evenings so Richard showed us a dog toy which has been repurposed for reversing hollow forms...cheaper and more readily available than a rubber chucky from the US.
As always we had several contributions from others so, if you showed something, then please do send over some photos you can do it from your mobile phone.... it's not that hard, just ask a teenager for help!!
DON'T FORGET: YOU SHOULD SEND OVER YOUR PHOTOS FOR MONDAY EVENING RIGHT AWAY FOLKS!!
Don't forget you can find the previous Monday Session Reports on the website just click here. You can also look at the images for each week by clicking here and look at the images for each contributor by clicking here.
Once again thanks to all of you for making these evenings such a success, if nobody contributed then none of these evenings could happen. Keep on making and, most important of all, keep on sharing!
