We all seemed to have had a good break over the festive period and some of us even managed to get out into the workshop and do a bit of work! Oh and for those that missed it, the Christmas Challenge was won by Kevin Purdy...well done! A busy first week back after the festive season so here goes...
Arun managed a to get back to our Monday meeting and sent over some photos of the time he managed to grab in the studio over the holiday period...very productive !!
Burnsy managed a little more experimentation with the 3d printer and produced a box which can only be opened or closed by completing a maze....when opening the maze is effectively completed blindfold. The new perch purchased for the visiting Cat was also shown...this doubles as a log splitter, assuming the Cat gives it's permission of course.
Dave Blanden sent in some photographs of a handful of Christmas trees turned quite literally at the last minute. We also got a photo of Dave in his other role....complete with beard and red outfit...
Gary Lowe sent over a few photos (and some video) of a piece he had completed...and very nice too!! A scalloped rim bowl with colour, texture and some metal leaf, another lovely piece for the gallery.
Martin Stacey sent in some photos of that new lathe of his which has been put to good use (at last!) and a view of a centre steady...happy Christmas to Martin then !!
Phil Irons has branched out (see what I did there !!) into end grain prints from some of his timber supply. We got a preview of some prints done from end grain slices of material also being used for hollow forms. Very nice indeed !
Richard Dickson has been out spending his profits from the Christmas Fair sales...amongst the purchases we can see a lovely new Tormek diamond wheel. Apparently Richards tools have reached a new level of sharpness...and sales of elastoplast have recently peaked in his area.....
