Lots more work on show this week, discussions about Eucalyptus, flowering succulents plus a whole lot more...and some more detail about the Green Football Weekend Trophy from Phil. Read on for more:
Andrew Hall sent in some pictures of a very old piece of Monkey Puzzle he found in the wood pile. The wood was beyond recovery but the knots were salvaged, they make fantastic lids for some small boxes!
Gary Lowe has been experimenting with the textured surface finish, producing this lovely piece of work. Very nice indeed!
Len Shield sent over some photos of some turned birds requested by a family member. Very nice.
Kevin Purdy sent over some photos of pair of rather lovely coloured and textured bowl. As always very nice indeed.
Patrick Lindsay sent over some photos of his progress with the "unliftable piece", it's coming along very well. Patrick also mentioned that he had been given some large pieces of Eucalyptus - prompting a discusson about working with this mercurial stuff. We also got some photos of a very unusual plant currently flowering in the Greenhouse...nice burst of colour!
Phil Irons sent over some photos of some earlier pieces turned from Eucalyptus. The photos illustrate just how volatile this material can be, you can clearly see the amount of movement in the dried pieces. Oddly enough most folks seemed to really like the distorted shapes, the wood seems to have the final say in these pieces.
Phil Irons also showed us a video he had made about the recent commission he had completed for the Green Football Weekend trophy.
As always we had several contributions from others so, if you showed something, then please do send over some photos you can do it from your mobile phone.... it's not that hard, just ask a teenager for help!!
DON'T FORGET: YOU SHOULD SEND OVER YOUR PHOTOS FOR MONDAY EVENING RIGHT AWAY FOLKS!!
Don't forget you can find the previous Monday Session Reports on the website just click here. You can also look at the images for each week by clicking here and look at the images for each contributor by clicking here.
Once again thanks to all of you for making these evenings such a success, if nobody contributed then none of these evenings could happen. Keep on making and, most important of all, keep on sharing!
