An update from the recent show at Newark, some pottery, vintage lathes for sale, using up scraps and a bowl with holes...what a busy lot! Read on for more.
Andrew Hall sent in a couple of videos from his recent appearance at the show in Newark. Looks like a good time was had by all !
Burnsy sent over some photos of recent experiments in Shaper Studio attempting to replicate some simple guilloche style patterns using the drawing tools in Shaper Studio. It's a work in progress!
John Brown has been off using up a gift and trying out working on the potters wheel. John sent in videos of his four fired works, very interesting...I think some of our number may be giving that a go shortly!
Martin Dickinson found a couple of advertisements selling Wadkin lathes online. One is for a place selling off some Wadkin RS lathes for spares and the other is an RU12 looking pretty sorry for itself.
Richard Dickson sent over some photos of a bowl, well mostly a bowl! Made from a piece of firewood from Mr Irons pile...though on looking at the timber Mr Irons did comment that he'd be more careful about what he discarded in future!
Phil Irons sent over some photos of a few pieces he had made to use up some scraps. It appears that Phil may have been a little too ambitious with the depth on some of them and they have become more of a tube than a vase...a suggestion was made that some nice green felt on the bottom could solve that issue. Phil didn't seem keen on that idea !
As always we had several contributions from others so, if you showed something, then please do send over some photos you can do it from your mobile phone.... it's not that hard, just ask a teenager for help!!
DON'T FORGET: YOU SHOULD SEND OVER YOUR PHOTOS/VIDEOS FOR MONDAY EVENING RIGHT AWAY FOLKS!!
Don't forget you can find the previous Monday Session Reports on the website just click here. You can also look at the images for each week by clicking here and look at the images for each contributor by clicking here.
Once again thanks to all of you for making these evenings such a success, if nobody contributed then none of these evenings could happen. Keep on making and, most important of all, keep on sharing!
