Lots of things going on, we seem to be continuing the car theme and adding in Motorcycles. We had new machinery arrivals, really interesting new finishing materials, woodworm and some of us even managed to fit in some turning. Read on for more...

Burnsy: WoodturningBurnsy sent over some photos of a new workshop arrival. A 60w CO2 laser engraver/cutter, it landed on the drive in a large crate and duly made the long trek up to the workshop....it arrived in one piece and will be getting set up shortly. We also got a motor vehicle themed submission which was not a car, a motorcycle instead - Moto Guzzi 1000S - balancing out the cars!

Graham Brooks: WoodturningGraham Brooks sent through some photos of a pair of couple of "bowl in bowl" pieces, on these ones Graham added some colour and texture. We also got a few photos to continue the car theme.

John Brown: WoodturningJohn Brown sent over photos of his continuing struggle with the insect ravaged piece of burr, we also got a video of the finished piece. John is not wanting to repeat the experience and will be selecting timber with a few less issues in future!! We also got a video from John of a lovely bowl made from a more stable piece of burr timber - the video is below.

Kevin Purdy: WoodturningKevin Purdy sent in some photos of a bowl/platter with a really eye catching rim. The rim was textured and then painted black, after that Kevin applied some of the Chamleon Powder finish being sold by Emma Cook on her website. The colour changes as you move the piece .... very effective indeed.

Martin Stacey: WoodturningMartin Stacey sent over some photos of a couple of pendants made for his girls plus a project based on an idea he'd had for one of them who is a real bookworm. As always really creative and imaginative work !!

Patrick Lindsay: WoodturningPatrick Lindsay sent over some photos of his current work, a large wooden pear turned in two parts on the lathe. Fantastic work as always.

Phil Irons: WoodturningPhil Irons sent over a couple of photos of some of the highly coloured Yew he'd been given. Very nice indeed. We also got a video from Phil showing what can happen to timber when insects attack...the video is below (you have been warned!!).

Richard Dickson: WoodturningRichard Dickson sent over a some photos of a couple of Ash hollow forms, one of which had a large bark inclusion which made hollowing a little uncomfortable. Two lovely pieces though!!
