Things normally get a bit quiet in the summer but there still seems to be lots going on; large lumps of wood being turned, lasers being fine tuned, bowls being made, garden studios built...all sorts of stuff going on. What a busy lot, read on for more...
Arun Radysh Hassis sent over some photos of a couple of recent pieces. One set showed a piece in progress on the lathe, a biggish bowl. The other a sculptural piece (below 1m tall) which could possibly be the model for a larger piece (2.4-2.8m tall) to be used as land art. Arun is also progressing with getting RU number 2 working...exciting stuff!
Burnsy sent over some photos following up on the calibration of the laser engraver. A couple of boxes made using an online template generation tool and cut from 3mm ply, simple quick and accurate. The second box has flexible sides to make it oval, lots of interesting possibilities ....
John Brown spotted an interesting burr on a tree whilst out walking the dog, it's going to be tricky to get that one back to the car without being spotted though!! We also got some photos of a very nice piece made from spalted Beech.
John McNay sent over some photos of recent pieces including some pendants which seem to be very good sellers at the craft events he attends...lots of good ideas in those ones folks!! John also gave us a look at the studio he has been building in the garden for his wife, looks a lovely job.
Patrick Lindsay sent over some photos, one showing a lovely hollow form, a Yew box was also shown - as always some lovely work. We also got some shots of Patrick's older brother, including one showing him at an alarming height on a ladder doing some repair work.
As always we had several contributions from others so, if you showed something, then please do send over some photos you can do it from your mobile phone.... it's not that hard, just ask a teenager for help!!
DON'T FORGET: YOU SHOULD SEND OVER YOUR PHOTOS/VIDEOS FOR MONDAY EVENING RIGHT AWAY FOLKS!!
Don't forget you can find the previous Monday Session Reports on the website just click here. You can also look at the images for each week by clicking here and look at the images for each contributor by clicking here.
Once again thanks to all of you for making these evenings such a success, if nobody contributed then none of these evenings could happen. Keep on making and, most important of all, keep on sharing!
