What a week!! Bird bath's, fairy mushrooms, land art, young turners starting out, transatlantic crossings (sorry couldn't resist that one), rare pieces of cast iron machinery and of course an Orchid or two...I need a lie down just thinking about it!
Andrew Hall has been out having even more fun, this time it's bird bath's and fairy mushrooms. I think we can safely say Andrew is officially now having fun !!
Arun Radysh Haasis is someone else who is very definitely having fun. Wadkin RU number 2 is now up and running, Arun is now moving from smaller scale (???) pieces to larger work. Of course as you progress in scale the tools get bigger....the 1 inch bowl gouge and the texturing tool made by Stihl. More like this please !!
Burnsy sent over some photos of two recent arrivals in the workshop. First and most important is the arrival of a traversing carriage for the RU, this has been sought for 12 years and finally it has arrived - Wanda is now complete again. A huge thank you to Arun. Secondly the rotary axis for the laser arrived....now to figure out how it fits and how to use it...
Kevin Purdy sent over some photos of a session with his niece turning her first bowl. Well done Kevin and well done young lady !! Lets see some more of that please, we need all the young turners we can get.
Patrick Lindsay (speaking of young turners) sent over a photo of work in progress and some shots of a garden nest box. Of course no week would be complete without an orchid or two and we weren't disappointed this week!
Phil Irons was some where in an airport on his back from the US but sent over some photos from the Louisville Symposium. Those of us who have seen his online demo offered Phil our congratulations on a job well done...it'd be nice to see a few more over there next year to show them how it's done!!
As always we had several contributions from others so, if you showed something, then please do send over some photos you can do it from your mobile phone.... it's not that hard, just ask a teenager for help!!
