Well, another week of scorching weather but some of us are still managing to get out into the workshop despite the call of the good weather!! We had chainsaw milling (far too hot for that), more laser developments, turned apples and a trip to Louisville. Read on for more.
Arun has sent over some photos from some milling work he's been doing. An windblown Sycamore which he cut up with a local tree surgeon, some turning blanks have been salvaged and the planks are now drying....anyone needing any boards??? Get in touch with Arun as it sounds like there's a lot more available.
Burnsy seems to be getting the hang of this laser thing. Some more laser cut pieces such as bowls made from spirals were shown plus an engraved photo...after nine attempts at finding the correct settings (including setting poor Minnie's nose on fire twice) it seems like things are heading in the correct direction!
Patrick Lindsay has been making more fruit with some spalted beech, we also got a look at a box Patrick had made and a very nice Orchid, the evening would not be complete without an orchid !
Phil Irons as promised we were given a quick video tour of the recent AAW symposium in Louisville, see below for the video. Looks like a great time was had by all!!
Video Clips from this week
As always we had several contributions from others so, if you showed something, then please do send over some photos you can do it from your mobile phone.... it's not that hard, just ask a teenager for help!!
DON'T FORGET: YOU SHOULD SEND OVER YOUR PHOTOS/VIDEOS FOR MONDAY EVENING RIGHT AWAY FOLKS!!
Don't forget you can find the previous Monday Session Reports on the website just click here. You can also look at the images for each week by clicking here and look at the images for each contributor by clicking here.
Once again thanks to all of you for making these evenings such a success, if nobody contributed then none of these evenings could happen. Keep on making and, most important of all, keep on sharing!
