We've had a small pause in the newsletters for summer breaks and exhibitions so there's a bit to catch up on. So here goes with a three week round up - apologies if I miss out on descriptions but the photos are all at the bottom of the article as usual.
Allan Joicey sent over some images of a rather special bit of wood he had delivered a little while back plus we got a glimpse of some more of Allan's work with threads and a whole load of other very detailed features...very nice indeed.
Burnsy is continuing on with the laser adventures, putting on an exhibition of work and heading off to the Knapdale and Craignish peninsulas...even managed a trip out to Jura...will be heading back over as soon as possible!
Dave Blanden sent over some photos of a chair repair he was asked to do...this chair was a lilttle smaller than average as you can see from the photo. Repair done and spare spindles supplied to a happy customer !!
John Brown sent over some photos of a bowl made from spalted beech with some incredible patterns visible, people seemed to see all sorts of shapes in the patterns. Everyone is excited to see some of the brass inserts in a project .... no pressure John.....and of course we could see some in Brian's work too....just saying ...no pressure.
Kevin Purdy sent over some photos of recent work including a faceted box and a bowl/platter with some carving and colouring. Lovely work as always.
Len Shield sent over some photos of a couple of recent pieces. Both pieces are lights and both are very nice indeed !!
Martin Stacey sent over some photos showing his recent shed roof repair, going from flat to pitched and giving the new roof a good waterproof coating. We also got a closer look at some of Martin's recent projects including his money box based on a two pence piece. As always very creative work!
Mike Wilson sent over a photo of a local museum which features a fairly substantial lathe complete with overhead shaft drive. It's getting into RU territory then!
Patrick Lindsay sent over photos of his latest projects including a plant pot made from a log for one of his grand children. Lots of other really nice work plus, of course, plants and orchids !!
Phil Irons sent over photos of one of his urns being completed from a stunning piece of burr...very nice indeed.
As always we had several contributions from others so, if you showed something, then please do send over some photos you can do it from your mobile phone.... it's not that hard, just ask a teenager for help!!
DON'T FORGET: YOU SHOULD SEND OVER YOUR PHOTOS/VIDEOS FOR MONDAY EVENING RIGHT AWAY FOLKS!!
Don't forget you can find the previous Monday Session Reports on the website just click here. You can also look at the images for each week by clicking here and look at the images for each contributor by clicking here.
Once again thanks to all of you for making these evenings such a success, if nobody contributed then none of these evenings could happen. Keep on making and, most important of all, keep on sharing!
