Burnsy was commissioned to make a sign for a local sports club from a piece of Ash. The logo and the timber were supplied, the engraving was done on the laser. The sign is to go outdoors so it will require some weather proof finish - Rustins Plastic Coating was suggested. A special parcel arrived through the week in the form of a piece of ceramic work by his late uncle which was found in an online auction.
Daniel Stewart joined us for the second time....we mustn't have put him off in the first session! Daniel sent in some photos of a single bowl, a spatula and a rather lovely Ash bowl with voids, inclusions and a natural edge...lovely work.
Len Shield sent over some photos of his recent trip to Slaley Show, seems like Len has been collecting quite a few prizes while he was at the show. Well done Len !!
Nick Simpson sent in some photos of pieces made from Scottish Wych Elm. Some beautiful work from lovely timber..sadly the folks in the South seem to have a shortage of this glorious material....such a shame.
As always we had several contributions from others so, if you showed something, then please do send over some photos you can do it from your mobile phone.... it's not that hard, just ask a teenager for help!!
