Lots of work on show this week plus a handy tip for re-purposing some of those old flat drill bits we all have rusting away somewhere. The first of the entries for the Christmas Challenge arrived, come on you lot get a move on..Read on for more.

Burnsy has kicked off the Christmas Challenge with a trio of trees (see what I did there??) plus a light up scene with a reindeer...see the video below. So come on you lot get a move on and lets see those Christmas masterpieces !

Gary Lowe: WoodturningGary Lowe sent in some photographs of a recent piece, this one features a lid with hand chased threads in African Blackwood. The piece is carved, coloured and textured - really lovely work.

John Brown: WoodturningJohn Brown sent in some photographs of his repurposing of some old flat drill bits that had been rusting away in the garage. A little bit of work on the grinder transforms them into something which will give you a round bottom hole...useful as a texturing tool??

Martin Stacey WoodturningMartin Stacey updated us all on the work to repair the bathroom floor which had been badly damaged by a long term undiscovered leak. It's all looking much better now and with any luck it should be finished shortly. Well done Martin!!

Patrick Lindsay: WoodturningPatrick Lindsay has been out in the garage working again (I'm exhausted just looking at the photos!!). Patrick is continuing to process the load of logs he had delivered, more natural edge pieces are now in production. We also got a look at some of the latest Orchid blooms of course !

Richard Dickson: WoodturningRichard Dickson sent in some photos of a Christmas Tree which he had coloured with Chestnut Rainbow Waxes (purchased at Harrogate) so I have added these to the Christmas challenge! We also got a look at a really nice hollow form which was rescued from the scrap wood pile...very nice indeed.
