Well, more trips out by folks to demonstrate and meet up with old friends and make new friends in far flung places. Turning, laser cutting and a whole range of other work on show plus, of course, an Orchid or two along the way. Another busy Monday evening .... read on for more.
Andrew Hall sent in some photos and video from his demonstrations at the Midlands Woodturning Show in Newark, it seems that a jolly good time was had by all and Andrew was demonstrating to some packed houses.
Burnsy as promised last week Burnsy showed us the lampshade in kit form and the completed shade in action !!
Gary Lowe has been off on his travels again, this time to Ireland as a demonstrator. Gary sent over a load of photos from the event plus some of the compliments he received from members of the audience. Well done !
Kevin Purdy sent over some photos of his entry to his club competition for a bowl of wooden fruit. Pretty spectacular was the opinion of most of those present on Monday evening.
Len Shield sent over some photos of some bud vases made to compliment his wifes hand made flowers..really lovely work.
Mike Wilson wasn't able to join us but asked for a couple of photos to be shown for John Brown. The photos in question were of two "doughnut" style bowls Mike had made some while back.
Patrick Lindsay is clearly getting back into the swing of things with some photos of a couple of hollow forms and a nice large footed bowl which shows some really nice grain pattern. Of course we also got some orchids !!!
Phil Irons returned from his travels to Mongolia and sent over some photos of the completed piece he had been working on, this piece is based on a piece initially turned by the late Bill Luce. Phil has coloured part of the work and added a silver band to mark the boundary between his and Bill's finished area - very nice indeed. We also got some photos and stories from Phil's recent trip to Mongolia.
