Andrew Hall sent in some photos of his completed range conversion plus some photos of a memorial seat he shares with Bob. The bench was put in place as a memorial to a lost son, the couple who look after it have now started to leave a dog bowl and fresh water for those in need of a break.
Burnsy pointed out that the folks over at Chestnut products have now released some Livestream tickets for the Woodturning Weekender aimed at those of us who can't or don't want to travel the distance to the event. You can now purchase a weekend livestream ticket so that you can join in all the fun, demonstrators are: Chris Parker, Mary Ashton, Gary Rance and some bloke called Andrew Hall ????.
So, lets support Terry and the team with their new venture folks, get your tickets here: https://chestnutproducts.co.uk/product/woodturning-weekender-2024-livestream-ticket/
Daniel Stewart joined us again this week and sent in a photo of a rather lovely burr Elm bowl, very nice indeed. Well done to Daniel on getting an invite to the Emerging Turners meeting sponsored by the RPT.
Gary Lowe has been doing some time trials on a piece to work out whether or not it can be used for a timed 90 minute demo...some work to do on the timings but the piece is really lovely.
Jim Briggs has followed up on the box challenge from Andrew Hall with one of his own...including the woodturners "pop" when the lid is removed...the pop was demonstrated several times !!
Patrick Lindsay has been out in the workshop "catching up" and we can all see the progress!! Along with the natural edge bowls we got some initial photos of a Monkey Puzzle hollow form which is currently in progress. We also got an Orchid currently in flower. Great stuff!!
Well done to Richard Dickson for "volunteering" to send in some photos and video on turning Pommels...or at least it seemed he did that ....did he jump or was he pushed ???? It should be interesting at any rate !!
