This week was busy, a trip North of the border, vintage farm machinery, King Alfreds cakes, airbrushing, hollow forms and someone even volunteered to do a piece for a future meeting...well done Richard...Read on for more....
Andrew Hall sent in some photos from his recent trip North of the border, it appears that Bob now has a savings account and a question was asked about the function of a piece of vintage farm equipment...the question was answered...see Julian's submission below!!
Burnsy sent in a photo of a discovery on some old logs being processed for the firewood pile. Known as King Alfreds Cakes or Cramp Balls, they do make great kindling and were used as a way to carry smouldering embers...Daldinia Concentrica.
Julian Cleak sprang into action when Andrew asked a question about the function of an old piece of machinery. A photo was despatched of another machine of the same type .... a potato digger !!
Kevin Purdy sent in some photos of a collection of work done with the airbrush and stencils, all the result of a demonstration by Emma Cook at his local club. Very nice as always !!
Len Shield sent in some photos of a piece he had made, a special request apparently !!
Martin Stacey sent in some photos of a piece he had completed recently, venturing into colour with this one. Well done Martin!!
Mike Wilson sent in some photos of a piece recently made, a hollow form in a classical form, looking good !!
Patrick Lindsay sent over photographs of work currently on the lathe, a hollow form this time. We also got some shots of the range of hollowing tools Patrick uses to create the forms.
Richard Dickson appears to be on a roll !! Richard was heard to volunteer to do another piece and send in video/photos...this time a three pointed box made from a cube in the same style as the one shown by Kevin Purdy last time...did he jump or was he pushed ???? Apparently he feels that he was pushed...lets call it gentle encouragement and leave it at that...
