Another busy week in the workshops with parcels being sent and received, puzzles and jigsaws, mystery timber, young turners batch sphere turning, a very special piece of machinery from Paul Howard and more...how do we fit it all in!! Read on for more...
Arun received his package from Burnsy and has been out putting it to good use already with some nice pieces on show. Play was interrupted by a slight sewerage situation which is currently being investigated...no photos of that one please !!
Burnsy has been out in the workshop up to more crazy laser antics. A couple of puzzles this time, both seem to be causing some brain strain amongst local residents !!
Kevin Purdy is recovering from shoulder surgery but managed this nice bit of pyrography and presented us all with a mystery bit of wood for identification. The general opinion was in favour of Walnut.
Len Shield sent over some photos of a really lovely vase in the form of a mushroom, this was made by his granddaughter Martha...well done !!!
More please !!!
Patrick Lindsay has been busy as always out in the workshop. Patrick sent in some photos of boxes made in the shape of apples and pears in a range of timbers. As always very nice work on show!
Paul Howard sent over some photos of a bit of batch turning work using the sphere jig that he designed and many of us have in our tool collections. They all look great!! We also got a look at a special machine Paul has, apparently it's called a Phil Irons Handle Straightener....no idea why...
Phil Irons sent in some images of a recent hollow form in Robinia with lots of voids, similar to an earlier piece which he had recently sold. However this one was done without the interior textured finish which some viewers had commented on the earlier example !!! We also got a look at a Horse Chestnut tree which is due to come down which seems to have one or two burrs on it.
Videos Submitted This Week
As always we had several contributions from others so, if you showed something, then please do send over some photos you can do it from your mobile phone.... it's not that hard, just ask a teenager for help!!
DON'T FORGET: YOU SHOULD SEND OVER YOUR PHOTOS/VIDEOS FOR MONDAY EVENING RIGHT AWAY FOLKS!!
Don't forget you can find the previous Monday Session Reports on the website just click here. You can also look at the images for each week by clicking here and look at the images for each contributor by clicking here.
Once again thanks to all of you for making these evenings such a success, if nobody contributed then none of these evenings could happen. Keep on making and, most important of all, keep on sharing!
