This week we had photos from abroad, more fun and games with 3d printing, a report back from car fest, woodturning featured in the New York Times and of course lots of Orchids .... lots going on but some of us still found time for some woodturning! Read on for more...
Arun has been visiting relatives in Europe and sent over some photos of the wonderful scenery and what appears to be rather fantastic weather too...just like the weather here...well not really!!
Burnsy has been trying more new ideas on the 3d printer, this time a pass-through pyramid...really just a toy but it does serve as a good way to fine tune the printer and learn a little more about adjusting the tolerances in multiple component prints...Gary asked for a similar thing using spheres...challenge accepted.
Patrick Lindsay has been busy as always and sent over some photos of a box in the shape of of an apple. This one shows some really nice figure in the timber and Patricks use of brass powder and super glue to fill gaps in the wood. We also got a wide selection of the current blooms in the greenhouse...lovely!
Phil Irons went off for a weekend visit to CarFest, it seems that a jolly good time was had by all concerned! Some photos of the Triumph sports car area were sent in, one in particular should inspire one of our group to some extent !! Phil also sent in some information about an article in the New York Times which featured some of his work...hopefully the sales will increase!!
