Lots of projects on the go this week, some being completed, some started and, of course, someone did have to go and mention Christmas (sorry Jim!). Read on for more:

Andrew Hall: Woodturning Andrew Hall is now approaching the end of his outside job list for this year and we can all see very clearly where he has been - a lot of jobs ticked off and some very good results. Now for those indoor jobs....

Arun: WoodturningArun is still finding time for turning whilst he is busy at college and work. We got a look at some rather lovely Monkey Puzzle hollow forms he has completed and we got a video clip of the turning in progress, nice to see that RU at work.

Burnsy: WoodturningBurnsy is setting to work on removing an old garden shed and replacing it with a new one. The demolition didn't take long as the old shed was less than structurally sound so it was a case of Shed: 0 Chainsaw: 1. Lots of interest in the carbide tipped chainsaw chains being used...nail resistant!!

Gary Lowe: WoodturningGary Lowe sent in some photos of a two recently completed works. One was from a Mallee Burr and the other from a Banksia Pod. The end result was two lovely pieces, both attracting a lot of very positive feedback. Well done!!

Kevin Purdy: WoodturningKevin Purdy sent in some photos of a couple of projects recently completed. A couple of Christmas pieces (sorry Jim) with glass domes, the domes proved to be very fragile with only some of them making it home intact. We also got a look at a carved rim platter, very nice indeed.

Len Shield: WoodturningLen Shield sent in some photos of a piece using colour, pyrography and some carving. The piece was made in response to a comment that he doesn't make enough use of colour. I think we can safely say that the challenge has been met !!

Patrick Lindsay: WoodturningPatrick Lindsay sent over some photos of a couple of large bowls he has completed recently along with a log plant pot made as a Christmas gift (sorry Jim) and some rather precious plants he has high hopes for - at that price so do we!!

Phil Irons: WoodturningPhil Irons is getting back into the swing of things after his jaunt to South Africa. We got a look at some pieces of the Beech tree he showed us recently, now as part turned work we can see some very interesting figuring - "flame Beech". We also got a look at a natural edge piece made from a Burr Horse Chestnut he managed to acquire some pieces of recently. Very nice !!
