Lots of work on show this week plus a side trip into fishing and in particular fly tying, this may be followed up by a live demo. We had some entries for the Christmas Challenge 2024 (sorry Jim) and a Pac Man candlestick (Sorry Graham). Read on for more:

Andrew Hall: WoodturningAndrew Hall sent in some photos of his fishing gear which has been brought out of retirement. A discussion followed on the merits of various types of fishing gear and on fly tying. It seems like we have a demo coming up on fly tying for those interested !!

Burnsy: WoodturningBurnsy sent in some photos of the Christmas production run in progress. A flight of angels no less!! A shameless attempt to corner the market in Christmas tat !! These will form part of the Christmas Challenge 2024.

Gary Lowe: WoodturningGary Lowe sent in some photos of a couple of small lidded hollow forms which are oriental in inspiration. Small but perfectly formed !!

Graham Brooks: WoodturningGraham Brooks has been out in the workshop producing some gifts. In this case it's some candlesticks turned on multiple centres/axes. Someone who shall remain nameless pointed out the similarity to Pac Man....showing your age if you get that one !!

Jim Briggs: WoodturningJim Briggs sent in some photos from his recent expedition to Dalamann timber for their recent open day. Lots of exotic timber on show with some very reasonable prices plus live demonstrations from Colwin Way, Stuart Mortimer and some Australian bloke called Phil Irons - however Jim got some photos of the real star of the show Lola !!

Kevin Purdy: WoodturningKevin Purdy sent in some photos of recent work including some pieces for the Christmas Challenge 2024, not only did Kevin do the turning but he also did the hats and scarves. There's no end to this mans talents!! Well done.

Phil Irons: WoodturningPhil Irons sent over a few photos from his trip to demonstrate at Dalamann timber. However, we all know the real star of the show was Lola !!
