Everyone seems to have made through the holidays and is getting on with stuff after the break. The recent weather and snow featured in some photos along with the usual mix of turning and a whole range of other topics including fault diagnosis on a laser cutter and of course some orchids to bring us all a bit of colour. Read on for more:

Andrew Hall sent in some photos of the recent snowy weather, Indy was sporting her new quilted coat!! Andrew is also walking a lab for a neighbour, the lab is younger and more interested in the snow than Indy who seems to prefer a nice warm stove....don't we all!!

Burnsy: WoodturningBurnsy has been attempting to diagnose a fault on the laser cutter and it appears that the power supply is the most likely culprit. A new power supply has arrived so we will shortly be finding out if that is true or not! However, getting to grips with the machines internal workings has been yet another school day experience.

Graham Brooks: WoodturningGraham Brooks sent in some photos of a beaded bowl/vessel completed recently and some Christmas items which had been missed in the excitement. Very nice as always !!

Kevin Purdy: WoodturningKevin Purdy sent in some photos of a couple of projects. We had a natural edge footed bowl/vessel and a textured/coloured bowl with some turned feet. Both pieces were very well received with lots of questions about the colouring and texture being used.

Martin Stacey: WoodturningMartin Stacey has been busy again. This time we got a look at a set of four napkin rings in a box, these are for a competition at his local club. Very nice and best of luck with the competition !!

Patrick Lindsay: WoodturningPatrick Lindsay sent in a mixed batch of photos. We got to see the snowfall in Hexham, a few of his recent pieces and we got a colour boost from the stunning orchids currently blooming in his greenhouse...a welcome boost in the current miserable weather!

Phil Irons: WoodturningPhil Irons is getting back into the swing of things after his holiday in Australia. Phil sent in some photos of another hollow form with voids which led to a discussion on keeping things like this together when turning them...and of course the inevtiable tales of woe from those that didn't survive the process. All in all a lovely piece !
