As usual things are a bit slow to get going after the new year, however it seems that some of us are still getting out and doing things...though the bones may be creaking a little more in the recent cold spell. Some really lovely work on show this week including some items featuring turning with added pieces of woven rush work, very nice and very unsual. Read on for more:
Burnsy is continuing with the workshop tasks. New arrivals this included the missing flue components to allow the refitting of the stove, powerline networking adaptors and a nice big inline extractor fan to get rid of all of that nasty smoke from the laser cutter...all that remains now is to fit them all !!
Davey Irons sent in some photos of some recent turned work with added rush work and an oversize laminated gymnastics club. The rush work was ( I believe) courtesy of Felicity Irons and very nice it is too!! Apparently Davey managed to do all of this without bending any tool handles...clearly he still has to learn that skill from Phil.
Martin Stacey completed his club demo with the splatter platters. The demo was well received and Martin remembered to put the anti-splatter cardboard box on the club lathe, though it might have been more fun not to!! Well done Martin!
Patrick Lindsay sent over some photos of a recent batch of candle sticks he has been making, the batch came about after his wife saw the first one. We also got a look at some of the lovely colourful blooms, a welcome splash of colour at this time of year!!
