Well we had a new arrival this week at the Hall house, a whole bunch of other stuff including air brush work, cake baking, new respirators, accidental discovery of lost tools, DIY projects being completed and a whole bunch of other stuff. Read on for more:
Andrew Hall had a new arrival to show us this week - an eight week old black labrador puppy called Roman. Roman was part of a litter from working gun dog stock and will be keeping Andrew and Janet busy for a good while to come!! Updates on his progress to follow.
Burnsy keeps on having these busy and varied weeks. More turning, more carving, more texturing and some colouring. A new powered respirator plus a sign to remind the owner to actually use it !! A ceramic sharpening stone arrived from Mr Irons, a search for an inspection camera led to the discovery of a power carver which had been totally forgotten about..it went straight into service !! A camera was fitted to the laser cutter, the previous attempt was stored somewhere safe prior to fitting onto the laser cutter (so safe it can't be found) so this is the second attempt. Last but not least the Stubby showed us just one of it's party tricks with the moving bed plus extensions allowing for some oversize turning on a very compact lathe !!
Kevin Purdy sent in some photos of two rather lovely turned eggs in Yew. Not content with that Kevin also set to baking some delicious looking cakes and rounded things off with some loo roll holders in the shape of sheep...these caused quite a stir and it seems likely that there will be a few of these in the making from group members.
Martin Stacey had a busy week as always. We got a video showing the completed renovations on his daughters room and Martin has been out experimenting with the airbrush and some masking tape...very nice work as always, more please !!
Phil Irons sent over some photos of some completed works being despatched to clients plus a group of small hollow forms in Ash which had been ebonised and then enhanced with liming wax...an oldie but goldie !!
