Normal (or what passes for it) service resumed following a short break ! We had a busy Monday evening with lots of projects of all kinds including sculptural work, pyrography, garden make overs, fly fishing and a whole lot more. A new starter (kind of) was also welcomed in, he even managed to send in some photos after a little gentle persuasion. On top of that we even managed to squeeze in some woodturning and, of course, a splash of Orchid colour. Read on for more:
Andrew Hall sent in another PupDate in the form of a video showing the progress with Roman's training. Well done to both !!
Burnsy returned from a short break in the North and went straight back into a bit of CNC by starting work on a sculptural piece for an upcoming exhibition. We also got a look at some photos from the recent expedition, including a trip to Lismore...without rain!!
Jim Briggs has been busy out in the workshop and sent in some photos of his prize winning entry into a local club competition - a group of penguins. Very nice and well done to Jim !!
John Brown sent in a some photos from a visit to a young metal worker who was exhibiting as part of the Spring Fling. The Spring Fling is an annual open studios event held in Dumfries and Galloway every year with over 100 artists and crafts people taking part over the holiday weekend. Give it a try next year maybe ??
Len Shield sent in a couple of photos showing some completed projects. A rather lovely bit of pyrography which takes advantage of a bark inclusion and some pin bowls with magnets which were made as gifts. Very nice.
Martin Stacey has been out doing a garden renovation projects and has transformed the back garden totally. Lovely job (as always), well done Martin!!
Patrick Lindsay is recovering from his surgery so isn't allowed to do too much at the moment but we got a look at some older pieces. We also got a more detailed look at his greenhouses and, of course, a look at what is currently in bloom in the greenhouse.
Phil Irons sent over some photos of the completed Robinia piece plus several other recent pieces including a hollow form made from an Ash Canker....loads of character in that one !!
Richard Dickson sent in a some photos showing that he has now officially made it into his new workshop and just to prove it we got a look at the first (of many) pieces of turning completed in the new space. We also got a look at the vegetable beds next to the workshop - splendid!
Steve Gordon sent in some photos of some recently completed pieces, including one that didn't quite go according to plan...apparently he's blaming this on being bullied into submitting photos....we refer to it as friendly encouragement here Steve, just ask Richard he'll tell you!! Looking forward to seeing more in future...see what I did there??
