Back to more normal levels this week with more ongoing projects on display and some new projects in the pipeline (lots of photos to look forward to). We had 3d printing, some lovely splashes of colour and texture, some workshop invaders and some very interesting cylindrical engraving on pieces. Lots to talk about and lots to learn from. Read on for more:
Burnsy was out in the workshop 3d printing some ring boxes with a twist (literally) and some 3d models of Tarkus for a friend - the designer of the album cover William Neal. We also got a look at some sculptural work in progress...more to follow on this one.
Gary Lowe sent over some photos of a few pieces completed recently. A pair of hollow forms still in progress, a carved textured box and a very nice lidded hollow form with finial. Lots of colour and texture as always, lovely stuff!!
Jim Briggs sent over a photo of his granddaughter showing off her painted fingernails....one to hold over her head later on then Jim!!
Kevin Purdy sent in some photos of a bowl completed recently. The bowl features some texturing on the outside edge plus more texture and colour on the base. As always, very nice work!!
Len Shield sent over some photos of a recent project made for a friend. It's a stand for a pocket watch, very unusual but practical. A nice bit of work all round.
Martin Dickinson sent over some photos of an invasion of his workshop by some of the black and yellow beasties (again). The nest has been removed and the beasties despatched without incident !!
Phil Irons sent over an assortment of images this week. We got a look at the set up for a show at a local venue, some box wood that came up on offer and some interesting experiments with the laser engraver done using the rotary axis on some cherry hollow vessels - this has some really interesting possibilities, more please!!
Videos Submitted This Week
As always we had several contributions from others so, if you showed something, then please do send over some photos you can do it from your mobile phone.... it's not that hard, just ask a teenager for help!!
DON'T FORGET: YOU SHOULD SEND OVER YOUR PHOTOS/VIDEOS FOR MONDAY EVENING RIGHT AWAY FOLKS!!
