Lots going on this week we had all kinds of stuff this week from potato harvests, rambling roses, pipe stands, porch finials and a whole lot more besides, some of us even managed some woodturning...whatever next!! Read on for more:
Andrew Hall managed to take a break from puppy training long enough to make a replacement finial for a neighbours porch, the original one was pretty much rotted through at the base. The top of the finial was salvaged and a box was also made. Nice one !!
Burnsy has been out doing some laser cutting and some finishing work on a couple of other pieces. A new technique was stumbled upon when using some Chameleon powder, on running out after one thin coat on a piece some more size was added and a similar colour in Chameleon flakes was laid over the powder...the impact of the colouring seemed to be significantly raised...could be useful.
John Brown sent over some photos of a piece completed recently using some Corian .... courtesy of Brian Conchie. Very messy but quite a nice bowl with a really nice finish.
Len Shield sent over some photos of a couple of recent projects, first a pedestal bowl and second a stand for a really unusual zeppelin pipe..really nice !!
Patrick Lindsay sent over some photos of a pear shaped box made in Yew. We also got a look at a rather lovely old fashioned rambling rose...very nice !!
Paul Howard sent over some photos of some of his nut and bolt boxes and gave us an insight into the long cutter he devised for the Simon Hope jig. Very interesting stuff and some very nice boxes.
Phil Irons sent over an assortment of images from an event he had been exhibiting at, lovely display !!
Richard Dickson sent over some images from his harvest, the potatoes look great!!
