Another busy week despite the many other draws on time through the busy summer period. We had new workshop arrivals (apparently they are essential tools and not toys.....), a combination of turning and rush weaving, more turning including a really lovely "chandelier" piece, the latest in domestic batteries plus the highs and lows of classic car ownership.... Read on for more:

burnsy: WoodturningBurnsy took delivery of a new piece of equipment for the workshop (not a toy!!) in the shape of a benchtop CNC - a Genmitsu 4040 Pro Max. Assembly was pretty straight forward and it seems to play nicely with the MacBook...now to learn how to use the thing....

Gary Lowe: WoodturningGary Lowe sent in some photos of a lidded bowl he had completed this week. The form had been carved and textured and given a scalloped rim....very nice indeed !!

Kevin Purdy: WoodturningKevin Purdy sent in a some photos of an absolute show-stopper of a piece. A turned candelabra/chandelier in oak...this piece drew admiration from everyone present and is a really lovely piece of work...well done indeed.

Richard Dickson: WoodturningRichard Dickson sent over some photos of his shiny new solar installation including the Sodium battery which was installed...the electricity bills are already tumbling!! We also got a look at the newly repaired ball joints on the TR6, Richard went for a celebratory trip in the old girl when repairs were completed. However, when coming home the joys of classic car ownership  came home to roost...the TR6 now has a blown cylinder head gasket.....proving the old adage...you don't just get a car, you get a hobby!!
