A bumper crop of photos and videos this week including some commission pieces in progress, an essential sewing accessory, some carving and a second person demonstrating the use of one of those new fangled laser things...whatever next!! Read on for more:
Burnsy Back to turning for a set of commission pieces, one completed several more to go including one fairly gnarly looking branch union...lets see if this one stays in one piece !!
Gary Lowe sent in some photos of a calabash style vessel which was made from a piece of burr elm that had been hanging around in the workshop for some time, the natural edge was retained and a bit of texture added to finish it off!!
Graham Brooks sent in some photos of a number of pieces completed recently for a club show. Lots of colour and some very nice turning !!
Kevin Purdy sent in some photos of a pair of tape measure holders in the form of a cotton reel. These proved to be very popular and will likely be making an appearance in several workshops .... just in time for Christmas !! (There you go...first mention !!!)
Len Shield sent in some photos of a turned and carved bowl this week, something a little different was how Len described it. It may be different but it's still a very nice piece of work, well done !!
Patrick Lindsay has been out in the workshop getting to grips with some bowls including a natural edge piece and a very nice spalted piece. Patrick is also selling a Record Power bandsaw (benchtop model), anyone interested should contact Patrick directly.
Phil Irons sent over some video footage of the workshop laser he has in action engraving the back of a batch of caddy spoons...they're catching on these laser things !!
