Well, this week Jim was unhappy...no pupdate. He was also unhappy as we are now in full Christmas production season and the use of the word Christmas is now widespread. However we did have wall lamps, bowls, vases and a discussion on inertia sanders to keep him happy.... Read on for more:
Burnsy took a break from Christmas gifts to go back to wall light design and to start work on an idea for a Z shaped lamp base which makes use of kerf cutting on the laser to allow the materials to bend...a number of ideas have come from the work so we can expect more experimentation as we go .....
Graham Brooks has been out making some more Christmas gifts...some rather nice painted bowls this time.
Len Shield sent in some images of a couple of Christmas production items. Firstly we got a look at a really nice egg cup and plate set...very nice idea....I have a feelling that idea is going to appear in a few different places. Next we got a tea light holder with a difference...very nice indeed.
Phil Irons sent over some images of a set of commission pieces he had delivered recently. All from the customers own Oak tree the commission also included an end grain print...great stuff!
Richard Dickson sent in his homework (without even being prompted). This time we got a look at a vase and a bowl, the vase had inclusions and all manner of things going on...nice!! Richard is still trying to fix his Axminster inertia sander...the general consensus seemed to be that he should purchase a replacement from Simon Hope...it's a consumable not a tool!!
