Jim was in pupdate heaven this week, not one but two pupdate videos plus some photos of Roman's grand day out !! We also managed to fit in some turning, CNC work, helpful jigs and broken cooling fans....busy week! Read on for more:
Andrew Hall sent over two pupdate videos for Jim along with some photos of Roman's visit to the woodworking show in Harrogate where he made friends with everyone and seems to have enjoyed himself.
Burnsy set up one of the pre-Christmas exhibitions so the Christmas goodies are now leaving the workshop (at last) and a cooling fan on the outer case of the laser cutter decided to hit the self destruct button so a replacement is being sought more on this next time ...
Kevin Purdy has been out making some more Christmas gifts, an icicle style decoration with texture and colour. We also got a look at a box with a spherical lid following on from the ones made by Gary Lowe recently.
Malcolm Ferguson sent in some images of a new club member from his local club who came over to the workshop to have a go. The result was a piece for use in a local historical re-enactment group...well done !!
Neil Farnham sent in some images of his latest hybrid turned/CNC creation. This one has a coloured and textured surface to give the effect of a woven tartan (plaid for our American friends) which was then finished on the lathe. Well done!!
Patrick Lindsay sent in some images of the bandsaw he is selling on behalf of a friend. It's a 12 inch Record Power model, all working but no fence...£90 or best offer please.
Paul Howard sent in some images to follow up on the piece shown last week by Len Shield. Paul has a jig to help with drilling the holes for the support rods used in pieces of the type shown by Len. As always with Paul's jigs..this one is simple but very effective, thanks for that one Paul!!
Phil Irons sent over some images of another piece in progress made from the Box Elder he managed to score from his local friendly tree surgeon. Apparently the red colouring seems to stay once the piece has dried...very nice indeed !!
