No Pupdate this week but lots more going on. We had replacement fans, trips to the beach, dog sculptures, hobbit houses, christmas tree baubles, bowls, spinning tops and some really colourful Christmas Cacti. Read on for more:
Burnsy managed to acquire a new cooling fan which was in the process of being fitted (now completed) to return some quiet to the workshop after the screeching from the old fan!! A photo of one of the local beaches was also provided to prove to someone that it doesn't always rain in Scotland !!
Dave Blanden managed to get some photos across to show us some of his latest projects. A rather lovely bowl with an undercut rim and a very nice form indeed was amongst the photos. We also got a look at some pendants turned using blanks supplied by Emma Cook (Tiny Turner) which were one of those "A Round To It" projects that we are all familiar with!!
Graham Brooks is still in Christmas production mode and sent over some photos of tree decorations which light up. These use kits supplied by Emma Cook (Tiny Turner) with turned tops and bottoms...very nice idea and really nice when illuminated!!
Kevin Purdy sent over some photos of a turned and decorated "hobbit house" he had made with a removable lid and battery powered tea light inside. Very nice.
Len Shield sent in some images of another one of his suspended cone tea light forms, those are going to be a popular item!! We also got a look at another favourite for any season...spinning tops !!
Martin Stacey sent in some images of the completed dogs head sculpture we have see glimpses of as he worked through the project. As always Martin has put his talent to work and created something absolutely stunning. Well done!!
Mike Wilson sent in an image of an inertia sander he had made some years ago for Richard...a follow up to the saga of the now defunct Axminster sander. Mike offered the home made version to Richard so it's either a trip to Anglesey or just buy one from Simon....that's a long drive!!
Patrick Lindsay has now disposed of his friends bandsaw and sent over a batch of photos showing us his latest work, some work in progress and a really colourful display from the greenhouse...some much needed colour!!
Phil Irons sent over some images of a completed funeral urn in flame Beech which was due to leave the workshop. We also got a look at some small bowls turned after his trip to Japan, Phil was inspired to try turning them using a hook tool and a Japanese style jam chuck. Urushi lacquer next then !!
