A pupdate arrived this week so Jim was happy (well, relatively). We could also see more Christmas production coming through and a rather novel Santa decoration which seemed very popular. We had a cremation urn that almost didn't make it on time, a sander found in the nick of time, some new year preparation work and a really rather nice bowl or two. Read on for more:
Andrew Hall sent over a Pupdate showing Roman is not not such a little lad any more!! We also got a video showing his ongoing training...Jim was in heaven again!!
Burnsy has now escaped the seasonal items and has moved along to thinking about next year. Cyanotype production work has commenced and we got a look at a couple of prototypes plus the working tools - not a computer in sight!! A new router sled is also being made to enable easier preparation of blocks for end grain prints. We also got a look at the wee burn running out across one of the local beaches...somewhat swollen after all the rain and now rechristened the "mighty Karakoram".
Graham Brooks is still in Christmas production mode but sent over some photos of three cornered bowls turned from CLS timber as part of a local club challenge. Very nice finish indeed!!
Len Shield has added his own creative twist to Christmas production with some really nice spindle turned Santa Claus decorations...seems like there'll be a few of these appearing from workshops in the not too distant future!!
Mike Wilson sent in an image of a piece he had returned after a conversation with Phil about form, the piece sold straight away after the reworking...well done !!
Phil Irons sent over some images of a completed cremation urn which was delivered to a funeral in the nick of time and put to immediate use! We also got a look at another urn which has left the workshop recently.
Richard Dickson sent in some images of recently completed pieces including a rather nice bowl made with an inclusion and some spectacular figure. Richard has also managed to locate a spare head for his inertia sander thereby earning a reprieve on purchasing a new one from Simon...for now that is!!
