Well, first meeting of the year seemed to go well with lots of discussion and work on show...seems like Santa was kind to some of us and the workshop allowed some of us to escape the festive onslaught!! Read on for more:
Burnsy sent in some photos of the now completed UV exposure box for working with Cyanotypes in the Scottish winter...now known as a Cyanotype Toaster. We also got a look at the glorious sunshine down near the beach and a new delivery to help with winter in the workshop...a filament dryer...more next time !!
Dave Blanden sent over a photo of some turned items that have proven to be very popular recently...some turned ear rings in the shape of a snowman. Unfortunately our resident Grinch (Jim) wasn't present to enjoy the belated Christmas themed items. Nice work from Dave !!
Gary Lowe sent over some photos of work from the holiday period. These sea urchin style forms are turned, textured and coloured...very nice indeed!!
Kevin Purdy has been very busy out in the workshop. We got a look at a clock mounted on a turned pedestal, a back scratcher and some more seasonal items .....gonks...this time with hats to hold pencils. Sadly Jim wasn't present ...we know he enjoys all of these seasonal items....As always some really nice turning !!
Martin Stacey sent in some photos of his Pot Pourri holder, this is an entry for a local club competition. Hopefully we should be seeing this with a winners rosette shortly then !! Well done.
Neil Farnham sent over some photos of a piece he has completed after several attempts. Neil is continuing on with his hybrid work combining CNC and more traditional turning techniques. This time we got a look at some lattice style work on a platter. Very nice indeed !!
Phil Irons sent over some photos of a batch of urns he had just completed. Very nice ideed !!
Richard Dickson sent over some photos of recent work, some rather lovely Walnut pieces. We also got a couple of shots of yet more seasonal items - sent in especially for Jim as we know he loves this stuff...
