Well, back to full speed after the easter break for most of us. We had prototypes, moving plywood, reports from a show, show winners, natural edge work, wood carving, bangles and hopefully a return to action for a classic sports car ... Read on for more:
Burnsy continues on the "no two weeks the same" theme with new laser cut lantern prototypes (including some interesting warped plywood), digital negative production and some ideas in progress for 3d printed lampshade components...it's all go!!
John Brown sent over sent over some photos a trip to the woodturning event held at Leyland. The photos show one of the demonstrators, our own Gary Lowe.
Kevin Purdy also went to the event at Leyland and sent in some photos from the event showing a show winning entry from the club of another regular - Mike Wilson. It seems that a good day was had by all...but better for some!! Well done to all.
Len Shield sent in some photos of some carving this week, a really nice piece of work made from an unidentified piece of wood rescued from the firewood pile of Kevin McAlister. Lots of interest in this piece, very creative!
Mike Wilson sent in some photos of his local clubs winning entries to the show in Leyland. The work on show featured some turned, carved and decorated cupcakes and even a rather delicious looking gateau...very well done to all concerned.
Patrick Lindsay sent in some photos of his ongoing run of natural edge bowls showing completed pieces and work in progress...Patrick continues to put most of us to shame with the work rate he manages. No wonder he needs two lathes ...busy chap!!
Phil Irons has taken a break from his usual hollow form production and has been making some bangles after seeing Neil Turner make them whilst at Turnfest in Australia. The bangles are made in different sizes and engraved using the LaserPecker 4...these should prove popular in the gallery.
Richard Dickson sent in some photos of the cylinder head of the TR6 which has been removed after much effort. The head has been refurbished and all of the parts are now in hand to refit it and we should see the TR6 back on the road shortly...unless of course something else should happen...all part of the joy of owning a classic car...or so we are told.....
