So, back to normal this week after a brief hiatus in the newsletters last week. We had a busy evening with lots of work on display, one of our number joined us in spirit from his holidays, we had bowls, boxes, geometry, veteran trees, funnels and a whole lot more. Read on for more:
Burnsy was in mid-exhibition chaos mode but managed to grab some photos of one of the pieces being completed for the exhibitioin, a Mandala style image made from layers of Plywood all cut on the laser cutter....it's about 600mm by 400mm and in Poplar plywood.
Jim Briggs sent over some photos .... it seems that for some reason Jim didn't want to join us for our Monday session .....from the Canary Islands....we wonder why? Perhaps the clue is in the glass in his hand ???
Kevin Purdy sent over some photos of some recently completed bowls, I believe these may have been the result of a trip over to see Patrick. Well done !!
Len Shield sent over some photos of a recently completed piece of work completed on the lathe in the shape of a rather nice eight sided platter. Lovely work as always !!
Mike Wilson sent over a photo of a hollow form made by someone as part of a demonstration... it would seem that the last cut on the bottom of the piece was perhaps just a little too ambitious...or perhaps they were going for an egg timer ???? Whoops!!
Neil Farnham sent over some photos to keep us up to date with his progress and showed us this rather nice, and very well finished, oriental style box. Looks like he's getting the hang of this thing!!
Patrick Lindsay has decided to take a break from natural edge bowls and has moved into boxes this week, specifically fruit shaped boxes. We got a look at a couple of pear shaped boxes this week....more to follow!!
Phil Irons sent over some photos of the set up at an exhibition/event he showing work at, the weather and the setting seemed very good .....hopefully the event turned out worthwhile.
Richard Dickson sent over some photos of a veteran Yew tree in the church yard near (hopefully) his new location. Looks like we have a workshop build to look forward to seeing !! (See what I did there!!!)
Videos Submitted This Week
As always we had several contributions from others so, if you showed something, then please do send over some photos you can do it from your mobile phone.... it's not that hard, just ask a teenager for help!!
DON'T FORGET: YOU SHOULD SEND OVER YOUR PHOTOS/VIDEOS FOR MONDAY EVENING RIGHT AWAY FOLKS!!
Don't forget you can find the previous Monday Session Reports on the website just click here. You can also look at the images for each week by clicking here and look at the images for each contributor by clicking here.
Once again thanks to all of you for making these evenings such a success, if nobody contributed then none of these evenings could happen. Keep on making and, most important of all, keep on sharing!
