Well, despite the summer season now being upon us in full now a number of us have continued to battle our way out into the workshop regardless of the sweltering conditions - sorry had to mention the weather. We had all kinds of work on show including garden renovations and a very large lathe....this group now has three Wadkin RU's in it. Read on for more:

Burnsy was in recovery mode following the exhibition and had taken delivery of a printer to solve a number of problems, namely the old one had given up the ghost!! A couple of deer made a guest appearance on a walk across one of the local beaches. An exhibition opening was attended so that one of the group could collect an award...well done Christine Atira Pauly...who won the abstract class at the DAGFAS summer exhibition.

Dave Wilcocks: WoodturningDave Wilcocks didn't join us but sent over a photo of a lathe he is in the process of getting delivered to his workshop...yes, it's a Wadkin RU. Despite all advice from another RU owner Dave went ahead and purchased it and is now entering the "Oh my God what have done!!" phase of RU ownership.....well don't say I didn't warn you!! Looking forward to some updates Dave !!

Gary Lowe: WoodturningGary Lowe  sent over some photos of some recently completed hollow forms which have natural edge apertures, carved feet and silver accents. Gary is using up some of the rather lovely Robinia Burr....lovely work as always.

Graham Brooks: WoodturningGraham Brooks  sent over some photos of a stool he had made with legs which had been turned on multiple axes. The stool was quite a talking point, it does support an adults weight and looks really unusual..nice work as always !!

Len Shield: WoodturningLen Shield sent over some photos of a recently completed piece commission for a client (his granddaughter) who supplied a detailed drawing of what was required...apparently the customer is delighted with the results....and rightly so. Very nice!!

Martin StaceyMartin Stacey: Woodturning sent over some photos his renovation works in the back garden which involved a lot of timber decking and cladding plus some very imaginative use of a reclaimed door. We also got a look at some turning currently on the lathe which looks like it's going to turn out to be another very nice piece of work. Where does he find the time??
