A busy evening this Monday with prize winning dogs, furniture restoration, clock making and sign making. We also got a look at some furniture making, model boat building, historic building restoration and more from our ongoing series about the "joys" of owning a classic sports car !!! Read on for more:

Andrew Hall: WoodturningAndrew Hall was back from his caravaning and joined us with an update on Roman with some photos of his recent prize winning appearance at a country show....very well done to both Roman and Andrew! We also got a look at some furniture restoration work on a piece rescued from a skip...well done!!

Burnsy: WoodturningBurnsy was recovering from the back to back exhibitions but used a bit of the downtime to make a prototype from a new design for a clock. We got a look at a commission that has come in for a model sailing ship, gadget to splice together ends of 3d printing filament so all those tail ends of spools can be used up. We also got a look at a sign created for the gallery in response to a visitor who decided it was OK to simply video all of the work on display to put onto their social media channels....they were asked to leave....politely but firmly.

Jim Briggs: WoodturningJim Briggs  sent over some photos showing a sign similar to the one Burnsy had made, this one was in a theatre. Not really sure why anyone would think it was OK to film a live performance without permission really...it's live folks...and these folks have to earn a living....

John Brown (Penn): WoodturningJohn Brown sent over a photo of a piece he had mentioned in an earlier meeting which has the centre of a shell mounted on it. Very interesting piece of work.

Kevin Purdy: WoodturningKevin Purdy sent over a photo of a project he is working on at work. The job is to restore some period panelling in a historic building, the panels may or may not be pitch pine but the size of the pieces is causing a bit of a headache when it comes to finding replacement timber for the rotten/infested parts which are beyond repair....lots of suggestions. More photos to follow!!

Patrick Lindsay: WoodturningPatrick Lindsay sent over some photos of some work he has been doing recently including an outdoor table and a large box in Yew which has been snapped up by a family member. We also got a look at some rather nice blooms from the greenhouse.

Phil Irons: WoodturningPhil Irons sent over a few photos showing the recent eclipse ....behind a nice large grey cloud!! We also got a look at the book showing the tribute pieces made from unfinished works by the late Bill Luce...some really nice work on show.

Richard Dickson: WoodturningRichard Dickson sent over a few photos from his recent trip to Devon and Cornwall in the TR6...well almost.... The old girl was doing quite well apparently until, after some coughing and spluttering the fuel pump gave up, it seems that the upgraded fuel pump was fitted but it proved to be too much for the electrical supply or something of that sort. The sunset did look nice though!!
